SAP NetWeaver BW (Data Warehouse) is a solution that can extract data from different source system either SAP or not and can report stored information on different faceplates. As a result of the improved ETL (Extraction, transformation, loading ) tools it is possible to extract data from SAP systems and from systems that are not SAP by using technologies such as UD Connect (Universal Data Connect – Java Connector) and DB Connect (Database Connect). Moreover data from flat files (excel, text files) can also be uploaded to the system. In the data extracting and storing process, the data can be cleansed, abstracted and decompressed according to the needs. Especially the data that serve the same purposes can be consolidated and can be reported together by standardizing data from different source systems.

The information cubes in which the data from different sources are store can be merged by multiple numerators and can be reported together. After storing the data which was loaded from different sources via ETL tools, transformed with the applied rules, cleansed, customized on demand and standardized, in the data objects, the advanced OLAP engine enables data to be reported with high performance.
Users can prepare their reports and queries with the user friendly ‘Query Designer’ which supports the ‘drag and drop’ properties. The reporting faceplate BEX Analyzer enables working with MS Excel media which can be used efficiently by users.
Besides remote access, rapid and visual reports can be prepared via WEB reporting. Access to reports are available via portals.

Users can use the drag and drop feature in all types of reporting faceplates to roam the reports and they can use all other features like filtering, changing visuals, putting in order, specifying provisions (like 5 customers maximum), specifying exceptions( showing records in a specific range in different colors), ‘drill’ and ‘dice’ features.
Data Integrator from the SAP Business Objects Data Services product family can also be installed as an alternative ETL tool to the SAP NetWeaver BW product. The data can be standardized flexibly via these tools that ensure flexible connection and fast transferring.
The data extracted by Data Integrator can be stored in Sap NetWeaver BW data warehouse as well as in another relational data warehouse that will be installed.
