Letters of guarantee registered in KKB Findeks can now be queried from inside SAP; once the letter's data and PDF are pulled onto the SAP screen and verified, the SAP TRM transaction and its FI accounting document are created automatically. On cancellation, TRM and FI are reversed with a single command.

For many companies, letters of guarantee are not merely financial documents; they are critical instruments that directly affect credit risk, liquidity, contract management and accounting. In high-volume processes, keying information into SAP manually from different systems creates the following risks:
In the solution Montag developed, an integrated process was established between the letters of guarantee registered in KKB Findeks and SAP Treasury & Risk Management: the letter data in Findeks became queryable from within SAP; the required details and the letter's PDF are pulled onto the SAP screen, verified, and then the SAP TRM transaction and its accounting document are created automatically.
The traditional process consists of several manual steps: the letter details in Findeks are re-entered into SAP; the financial transaction, guarantee tracking, accounting document and — where necessary — the reversal are then carried out as separate operations. As the volume of letters grows, so do the operational burden and the risk of error.
The project's core goal was to make the letter data in Findeks directly usable inside SAP, bringing the whole transaction life cycle under a single integrated process.
When a new letter of guarantee is registered in Findeks, its core details — principal amount, start and end dates, beneficiary, currency and other financial and operational information — can be pulled into SAP. The need for the user to read the same information from the Findeks screen and type it into SAP again was largely eliminated; instead of constantly switching between two systems, most of the checking and processing steps can now be carried out from SAP.
The integration was not limited to the financial fields: the letter's PDF document in Findeks was also made accessible from the SAP screen. The user can compare the retrieved data with the original letter text, the financial terms, the dates and the beneficiary in the same step — an important control point for confirming that the letter and the financial record to be created are consistent.
Once the Findeks data appears on the SAP screen, the user performs the checks and completes any additional information; with Save, a new financial transaction for the letter is created automatically in SAP Treasury & Risk Management. Re-entering the letter into SAP TRM as a separate manual transaction is no longer necessary.
The process does not stop at the TRM deal number: the accounting effect of the TRM transaction is created automatically on the SAP FI side with no further user action. A direct link was established between the financial transaction and the accounting entry; the user no longer creates a TRM record first and then a separate accounting document.
Not only creation but the cancellation and reversal steps in the letter's life cycle were automated. Where finding the TRM transaction, reversing it, locating the related FI document and reversing that too would normally take several steps, a single Reverse command on the SAP screen now does the following:
The integration did more than shorten processing time; it built a stronger structure for financial control. Because the Findeks data is included directly in the SAP process:
SAP Treasury & Risk Management was positioned not as a system where letters of guarantee are merely recorded, but as the central management layer of the financial process: letter of guarantee, financial transaction, accounting, document verification and reversal were brought together in one architecture.
