The financial backbone
of a large S/4HANA transformation.

In the S/4HANA programme led by SAP Türkiye, Montag owned the entire finance workstream: FI, CO, Treasury & Risk Management, cash flow and bank integrations were designed as a single finance architecture and taken live in roughly eight months.

Project Overview

Getir is one of the companies born in Turkey that created a new market in quick delivery with a technology-driven business model. Its digital model, high transaction volume and rapidly growing operations made it essential that financial processes, too, were run on an equally integrated, scalable and central ERP foundation.

A comprehensive SAP S/4HANA transformation was carried out at Getir to meet this need. In the project led by SAP Türkiye, Montag took responsibility for the finance applications. Over roughly eight months, the core financial processes — including FI, CO, SAP Treasury & Risk Management, cash flow and bank integrations — were designed on S/4HANA and taken live.

The Financial Backbone of a Large S/4HANA Transformation

An S/4HANA transformation is not merely a move of existing processes onto a new platform. On the finance side in particular, the following are not independent processes; a financial transaction created in one area has to flow correctly and on time into the others:

Montag's core responsibility in the Getir project was to design and deliver these financial processes on S/4HANA as parts of a single, integrated finance architecture.

SAP FI and SAP CO: Two Faces of Accounting

SAP FI – Financial Accounting. The FI processes needed to manage the company's financial transactions within a standard, central accounting structure on S/4HANA were designed. FI also became the accounting layer for transactions coming from treasury, bank integrations and the other financial processes.

SAP CO – Management and Cost Accounting. The aim was not only to produce statutory accounting results, but to build the foundation that lets management track financial performance across different business dimensions. FI and CO were designed together, creating an integrated structure between financial and management accounting.

SAP Treasury & Risk Management

Treasury processes were set up to run as a natural part of the S/4HANA finance architecture. Treasury operations were taken out of separate applications and manual processes and integrated into the SAP finance ecosystem; the financial effects of treasury transactions were designed to work together with the FI processes. The result was an integrated structure between operational treasury management and financial accounting.

Bank Integrations

Bank transactions were one of the important components of Getir's financial operations. Bank integrations were built inside the S/4HANA finance architecture rather than as operations independent of the finance systems:

BanksBank-originated financial movements

FI / TreasuryIntegrated processing with accounting and treasury

Cash Flow and Liquidity Visibility

A structure was built in which data from financial accounting, treasury and bank movements can be evaluated from a cash flow perspective. Finance teams can now assess not only posted accounting entries but the company's cash position and future cash movements. Cash flow management thus stopped being a report independent of the other finance modules and became part of the S/4HANA finance architecture.

Not Independent Modules — One Finance Architecture

FI, CO, treasury, cash flow and bank integrations were handled within a common architecture rather than as separate projects — a single process running from the source of the financial transaction to management reporting:

SAP Türkiye and Montag Working Together

The project was led by SAP Türkiye; within the programme, Montag owned the finance applications workstream. Montag consultants worked across the following stages:

For Montag, this project stands as one of the clearest examples not just of expertise in a particular finance module, but of the ability to handle the entire finance function together in a large-scale S/4HANA transformation.
